Fans of scary first person shooter F.E.A.R. and its classy sequel have reason to celebrate. F.E.A.R. 3 is on the way. The publisher of PC Zone has been spilling details from a future edition of the magazine, including this rather scary cover:

Developer Day 1 is on the case. President and founder Denny Thorley:
After working closely with Monolith, Day 1 is honoured to bring the next iteration of the FEAR franchise to gamers with key elements of the past games yet providing fresh combat and horror experiences in FEAR 3. Players can look forward to new features such as divergent co-op, an evolved cover system, and more scares in F.E.A.R. 3
You can also refer to it as F.3.A.R. - if you have a short memory and don't recall what that did for Driv3r.
Warner Brothers are the publisher, and horror movie legend John Carpenter (Big Trouble in Little China, The Thing, Escape from New York, Halloween and a tonne more) has been working with Day 1 on the game on storyline and cut-scenes. Super.
In case you're thinking this is another closet monsterfest, the team are offering their "Generative Scare System" - which is a fancy way of saying "random timing/location of baddies". Protagonist Point Man and his spirit bro, Paxton Fettel will reprise their appearance. In co-op, the corporeal will see different visions than the incorporeal, which is a nice touch.
The action will centre around a race against time to stop a pregnant Alma (spooky girl from the previous games) giving birth. Kind of like Aliens meets Knocked Up with a slice of The Ring.

I have played FEAR 1 and 2 not 3... I think 3 isn't out yet... Anyways, it was a crap...
